This address reminds us of the believer’s living hope—the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the promise of a new heaven and new earth. It calls believers to live in expectation, holiness, and comfort, looking forward to the day when God dwells with His people and faith becomes sight.
In a world full of danger and uncertainty, we need a Rock that never moves—our eternal refuge. Like the American airman who hid in a mountain cleft, waiting for rescue, we too were lost—until Christ climbed the hill of Calvary. There, He gave His life to redeem us, to save us, and to bring us back to God. In His work on the cross, we have forgiveness, we have hope, and we have life. Christ is our Rock of Ages—our steady anchor in every storm.
Every life is moving toward eternity. The question is not if you will meet God, but how — and God has come Himself, in the person of the Lord Jesus, to bring salvation to sinners.
The Gospel is God’s report to a lost world — the good news of His love, His Son, and His salvation. Yet not all believe it. This message calls us to consider our response to that report: to hear, to believe, and to receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. For those who believe, it is the power of God unto salvation; for those who refuse, it becomes a solemn reminder of what’s at stake for eternity.
Many people today find themselves distressed by the trials and worries of life. The Gospel calls sinners to the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, whom He sent as the Saviour of the world. There is hope for the distressed sinner in the Gospel because Jesus has come to bring salvation and turn darkness into light. He welcomes you through the Gospel. Have you accepted His invitation?
The Gospel is good news for mankind. God has provided a deliverer in Jesus Christ, and by putting your faith and trust in Him, there is peace with God and the forgiveness of sins. At the cross, Jesus laid down His life for you, that you might be delivered from the kingdom of darkness and translated into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
God has set a day when He will judge the world. Are you ready? The Bible tells us that in our sins, we have fallen short of the glory of God. There is nothing we can do to earn favour with Him; all our good deeds are like filthy rags in the sight of a holy God. But the good news of the Gospel is that God has sent His Son, Jesus, as a deliverer from the coming wrath. Is He your deliverer?
In this Gospel preaching, you will hear of three meeting places. Firstly, a meeting at the cross, secondly, a meeting at the mercy seat (the Lord Jesus), and finally, a meeting in the air.
God’s word tells us that the souls of men will spend eternity in one of two places: heaven or hell. Where will you spend eternity? In our sins, we find that we have wandered far from our holy Creator, God. The wonderful news in the Gospel is that God has sent a Savior for sinners, His Son Jesus Christ.
