If you read the story of Joseph from the Old Testament it is impossible to read it without thinking about Jesus. The similarities were not placed in the scriptures by chance God intended for us to read them and see Jesus. In the following address, you will hear about the way God teaches believers.
Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
Genesis 37:2-5 “These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, fed the flock with his brethren; and he was doing service with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives. And Joseph brought to his father an evil report of them. And Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was son of his old age; and he made him a vest of many colours. And his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, and they hated him, and could not greet him with friendliness. And Joseph dreamed a dream,”
Colossians 1:13-20 “and translated [us] into the kingdom of the Son of his love: in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins; who is image of the invisible God, firstborn of all creation; because by him were created all things, the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or principalities, or authorities: all things have been created by him and for him. And he is before all, and all things subsist together by him. And he is the head of the body, the assembly; who is [the] beginning, firstborn from among the dead, that *he* might have the first place in all things: for in him all the fulness [of the Godhead] was pleased to dwell, and by him to reconcile all things to itself, having made peace by the blood of his cross—by him, whether the things on the earth or the things in the heavens.”
